Invest In A Jumpsuit
If there was one item that summed up the relaxed, Stella McCartney spirit for spring 2018, it was the jumpsuit. Hers came tailored with a sharp shoulder and a pegged, boyish trouser or as roomy boiler suits in mustard khaki cotton or yellow acid wash denim. "They're effortless and the ease that you have, as a woman knowing they're in your wardrobe makes them essential," said McCartney. "They're the best thing to fall back on and they're pretty much my uniform."

Dial Down The Glamour
McCartney acknowledged that although her house is best know for daywear she's not averse to dressing up, but approaches it her way. She went back to her own wardrobe and collection of vintage frilled and flounced evening gowns. " I have all those dresses but they're all chopped, when I wore them I didn't want to wear the real thing. I wanted to destroy it so that was what I brought onto the runway," she said. So there were taffeta ball skirts, but worn with simple oversized tees and frilled dresses that copied the shape of classic ball gowns but draped softly on the body. McCartney deliberately made her taffeta looked like nylon. "We pressed everything," explained McCartney of her modern approach to finery. "We flattened everything. We cut them
off and let the linings come out we cut the hems," she said. "It's about taking that high and providing the low to it."

Embrace The Vest Dress
The easiest option of the season is the vest dress. Pull it over your head and go. McCartney showed hers layered up and in neutral colours. Backstage, she spoke of her desire to create pieces that felt, "In the moment. That's our woman. It's that attitude that comes with the house.
